Browsing Through Tabs

Having lots of tabs open on your browser can never be bad. Whether it is in an attempt to figure something like which ITR form to fill for your tax returns, or for travel, it's all for your own good. I, of course, am going to elucidate on the travel-related tabbed browsing.

If you are a regular here, you would know of all the travelogues which begin with a mention of scores of tabs, about various travel destinations/info about a select destination, open on my browser. In that context, this coming August seems to be way too exciting to be true. I think it will be exhausting if it really shapes up as per all tentative and confirmed plans, but that's no reason for me to not get excited. I know at least one of the trips will happen for sure since my tickets are already booked. It better not be a bummer. For the others I am keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that at least one materializes. Actually, I am hoping only one of those does because I am not sitting on a heap of Rupee notes and I need to space out such expenses. Pff.

Wondering where? I will tell you all about it in detail only when I am done doing what I want to. As of now, it should suffice to say that I can view lakes, hills, forests, AND snow on my tabs. Wohooo!! Shhhhhh!

GO(o)Dness!

Sometimes it is hard to differentiate between real and surreal. There is a conflict between what you want to believe and what you should believe.

Dr. V.V.R. Sastry taught us marketing in semester I and II. In the third semester he is taking brand management classes. Unfortunately, it is not the entire 30 hours of the module that he is taking thanks to a damn permanent faculty the college has got for the subject. I have mentioned several times earlier that marketing has been my most favourite subject so far. It is so purely because of this man. He must be at least 60 years old, but the dynamism that he brings with himself is absolutely incredible! To me, he is the god of marketing. Kotler's book has never had the Bible status in my mind because I have had god directly talking to me.

I do not want to compare the new in-house faculty with him, but am forced to because every time I sit in her class I feel I am just wasting time. It takes a lot to kill anything associated with branding. But this woman does it with finesse. I can't believe she is doing 2/3rd of the course! :-/

So, Dr. Sastry took his first class yesterday. I was S U P E R excited. And so were a few other people who can appreciate good things in life. (And some admitted to 'eating their words' later for not realising sooner how great the man is. :P) I sat in front, made notes, and felt happy! The class was brilliant. In Robin's words, it was our weekend bonanza - the perfect close to the week! :D

Now comes the surreal bit.
It being a Wednesday evening, many people had plans of going down to Shree for dinner and drinks. A couple of friends were proactive and asked Dr. Sastry himself to give them a ride till the foot of the hill. And they sat in his car! When I reached Shree an hour later, this is what they had to say: Sastry said to Robin, "the girl (me) sitting next to you in class is intelligent. I remember her from last semester's presentations."
I tried confirming this 20 times. They could very well be taking my case because everybody knows that I am obsessed with the man. But they're maintaining their stand even till this moment. Now either they're being cheap by not admitting that they were kidding, or are actually saying the truth. It is too unreal to be true, too perfect for me to believe, more perfect for me to not want to believe, and I do not know what to do about it!
It makes me happy even if my friends are making it up. But I swear I cannot express what it would mean if it were true and there was some way of validating it! Guess I'll keep obsessing about it for the rest of my life. After all it's god we're talking about!

Got bored of the blog's look, so shuffled the colours a little. I like the brightness. Would like to know what you think of it too.

It's an extremely windy day today. The unsettling feelings continue...

Hottie!!

After really really reeaaallly long am I having such an urge to write. And on one of the oldest themes on my blog - eye candy!! :D

John Stamos this time!! Full House's last re-run got over waaaay back, and anyway, I first watched the series when I was in school. Drooled over him like mad. And of course, I wasn't alone. All of us friends used to love him insanely. Small secret: one of them had a break-up because of him. :P
So, he's back in a new series on Star World - Jake in Progress. I did enjoy his small stints here and there in between too (the potential sperm donor in FRIENDS? yeah baby!! :P). But now he's playing Jake and this means thirty minutes of full-on entertainment! :D
Somehow I never followed E.R. and therefore missed him there.

But now I am super happy. Yayiii!!! :) :)

:D :D :D

Ok, I am majorly itching to write this post in all caps, but I really want you to read it so I won't do that. I am on top of the world. And that is because I have a supercool boyfriend (yes, I took his permission to write like a 15-year-old).
Do you know what an acrostic is? I did not till a few moments ago. Go dig up the meaning and then read this.
Lockjaw is a disease, but I think I almost got that after reading this. I could not, and still almost cannot believe it. I think I am touched, but right now the disbelief is overpowering. Daily reiteration of feelings in common words suddenly doesn't seem to be enough. I have nothing to say, nothing to write....just have an ear-to-ear grin. This is just insane! :D
I'm so happy!! :-)

P.S. I hope you know what my real name is. :P

Rockers!

And I talk again! Again an attempt to capture some nice moments in my little store of words.
After having stuck to the bed for over 5 days, I went to work still half-dead today. Thankfully, it was a conference-to-attend-and-no-work-to-do day. I was moving around lifelessly till 5 in the evening, which is when I got a call from Neha. Good news. Two friends cleared the D School entrance exam! Two close friends. Two very very kickass, intelligent, brainy friends. One support-system friend.
Start jumping. No, stop, you're still around normal people.
Start yelling on the phone. No, stop, control, control the volume, womannnn eassyyyy!!!!!
So I hang up. And grin. And grin non-stop. Compel people to ask me what the reason for the joyous mood is. And I announce! Everybody understands the gravity of the situation because 90% of the people have an Economics background.
And so I start calling to congratulate! I am yelling again but I don't give a fuck anymore. Everybody knows by now that the woman will have no manners, she will walk around in the corridor instead of finding a corner, and yell into other people's ears that 'I told you you'll clear it!'. It's all cool!
And then I am desperate for a hug. Shit desperate! Who would have thought that I was the same person who was cribbing about weird smells in the hotel 5 minutes ago! AAANNDD I found Priya for the incredible gesture. She's one of the cuter people that WWW has recruited along with me. Although I have absolutely no special liking for that adjective, so it's ok. Anyway, coming back!
Then I made the second call. That is when I mentioned that I want to have a BIG party and just splurge all the money that I have. I REEEAAALLLLYYY wanted to spend it all! But look at my luck, neither of the two buggers were in Delhi! Hmph! Sad, I tell you!
But yeah man, I am very very happy. Incredibly happy. So unbelievably kicked about the whole thing! I know such starlets! Academic superbrains Ami and T are! They're superbrains otherwise too, but you can't beat them at academia. At least not in Economics. Wanna bet? :P

And incidentally, this is my 100th post on this blog. :D

Beaded

While last weekend I had made my room free of every speck of dust, cleared my table of every possible thing that could have landed on it and dug behind all buttons and switches, this time I opened one of my cupboards for a similar spree. And it's a win-win situation for me. Not only does my cupboard look much prettier now, I also found something that I had hidden a long time ago because I was sick of even looking at it - my collection of chunky beads!!!! My God I am so happy to see them all again! I had completely forgotten about them during pseudo sophisticated days of college. And now I am proud of my collection again. It is a little surprising though that I still like something that I had bought 4-5 years ago - I generally find my own past taste in things quite weird (but it is a continuous process. I know I will call myself stupid and tasteless 5 years hence for the things that I buy today too). But my beads, I guess, are evergreen! Yeeheeee!!!! :D

Update

This is of days dedicated to sleep, laziness, juices, socializing, Orkutting, and a little bit of craft-work! :P

Oh yes, standing in front of the mirror to admire my new hairstyle too! Heee...
Seriously, if you're in South Delhi, you must check out Harry and Shanti's at South Ex. The man who did my hair is Kamal. The place has been a better experience than the Meghnas and the Madonnas of Green Park. Much better! Imagine, my friend who accompanied me there loved what happened to my hair so much that she got hers cut as well. :D

D day is coming closer and as time is passing, I'm more scared than excited. An all-new world, new people, new place, new routine....the thought is scary! I'm trying not to think too much though. Just hoping to take it all as it comes.

I went to Dilli Haat after really long last night and they've erected a weird information console in the middle of nowhere. The fruit beer was too sweet, the chat was too sweet, and it was a not-nice experience. Plus, another friend did not let me buy some chunky jewellery that I liked 'coz apparently it was not worth the price and also that I need to reduce my expenses on 'such' things as I will spend more than half my days in formals now. :|

Not that you don't probably already know, but the heat has gotten REAL bad in the last 3 days! I don't feel like stepping out of my house, so the idea of playing becomes even more far-fetched. Craving for some badminton! :(

Oh, by the way, since we're on the topic of good and bad things happening around, now Gulati's at Pandara Road is also not as great as it used to be. In vegetarian food, its specialty for me was the dal makhani. It served the best dal in town! But it was so bloody ordinary last week that I wondered why we were paying so much!! A dhaba near my bro's office makes better dal!
So I'm not going there again.
Speaking of food, Bengali Sweets in South Ex serves amazing Chinese food. Yes, you got that right! We took the risk of ordering that kind of food in that kind of a restaurant but it turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. Was actually better than what I'd had at Bercos a day before that!

On a non-serious note, I think Bisleri mixes some intoxicating stuff in its water. This past Sunday, the more water I had, the more I felt and acted drunk. I know, sad that I was getting high on water but even so! I'd planned not to dance at a family function ('coz of the heat again) but who was I kidding. Not only did I dance, I danced non-stop like crazy! With cousins, with chachis and tais, and alone too! Danced away from the dance floor as well - where the food was being served. I'd completely lost it. And that same intoxication made me completely check out this superhot guy (who, by the way, is married!). Really! Tall, fair, handsome, awesome dancer, and just super-duper hot! Sources tell me that he's even done some modelling. Bloody! Married he is!!
But I still had some fun with him thanks to some distant aunt of mine. :P
Although, I still don't know his name; you don't need that on dance floors. :D

And now I'm out of stories to narrate. So until next time, bbyeee!!! :-)

October Wedding

There was once a very charming PJ king and a very cute girl he knew. He studied science and she studied economics. He rode bikes and she got tattoos and piercings. He loves her and she loves him. They are getting married and I am weirdly, insanely happy for them. To Akash and Michelle! Loads of wishes for them! Mmmuuaah! :D
