Saw it coming

You know those dark clouds that you know you cannot escape? Except that they keep dodging you and you cannot tell when they will get you. I started 2012 with a terrible intuition. But it was less of intuition and more the anticipation for the dark clouds. Dad's high BP and unacknowledgment of the issue always scared the life out of all of us. But none of us ever had the courage to even discuss it. All we could do was keep telling him to take his medication. And all he ever did was ignore us.

And then it happened. It had to happen. It was nothing less than a nightmare. I was suddenly facing the deepest fear in the middle of a night, seeking reassurance in unscientific words. But we were lucky. There was some loss; it was bound to be. It will be difficult for him to change and adapt now. But I think that's the easiest way out of what we experienced.

Thankful much, yes.

With Love

In a span of 24 hours I had formal notifications of two of my most important people getting engaged. It wasn't news but it was overwhelming nonetheless.

I really have no words at the moment. All I know is that I am extremely happy that the girls have found these perfect men.

English Vinglish

I am no ace when it comes to the language but even I have to deal with some glaringly irritating factors everyday.

Move over you're/your, I have some more polished cases for you here.

# There are those who write the same thing in three different ways so that the same thing can confuse the readers in such a way that they have to read the same thing thrice and derive one take-away.

# There are those who use punctuation like they are living in the olden India, of 1970s. Why don't you take her away, for your kind perusal?

# There is another variety. The one that apparently thinks in one long chain and therefore does not think it is necessary to end a sentence such that another long and complicated sentence could begin. I sit and fear my american audience won't even read the email!

# I know one more type. The ones who think skipping conjunctions saves time. What they thinking!

# There is also the endearing fresher from college who doesn't know about business jargon yet. I'd say this one can be dealt with rather easily. Wot say?

PS - It is hot in Delhi now. :D

Turn on the heat

Oh! Summer, I am waiting for you even though I live in India. Call me mad or what you like. But please come soon. I can sneeze no more. And I cannot wait to have ice creams without having to worry about congested lungs.
